Tom joined the Tennessean staff as the Photo Editor in 1996. Prior to moving to Nashville, Tom was the Photo Editor of The Times, in Shreveport, La from 1990-1996.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Photojournalist-Early in his career he was a photographer for papers in Texas and Louisiana from 1981-1989. He worked for USA Today in the summer of 1988. Some memorable events he covered were the Cuban Prison Riots in Oakdale, LA in 1987, the 1st time the lights went on at Wrigley Field in 1988 and Super Bowl XXIV in 1990.
EDITOR: Edited photos from the Tornado that tore through Nashville in April of 1998, edited photographers work in Tempe in 1999 when the University of Tennessee won the National Football Championship and edited and transmitted USA Today photographers work during the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
Tom graduated from Texas A&M/Commerce with a B.A. in Photography in 1983, he has a minor in Journalism.
