Eric Parsons has covered the war in Afghanistan, several stories in Mexico and two Super Bowls. He joined The Tennessean photo staff in 1999. After receiving a double major in Spanish and Photojournalism from Western Kentucky University, he interned at St. Petersburg Times and the Indianapolis News. He then worked at the San Bernardino County Sun in California for four years.

He has won two Best of Gannett annual awards, and various NPPA national and regional awards.

Eric is a native of Baton Rouge, LA and enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, mountain biking, camping, traveling and target shooting.
